My central heating and air is blowing out warm air even though it is set for cool. Whats wrong with it?

This is hard to troubleshoot online.
Mine did this a couple years ago and it was not the refrigerant or the compressor. It was some sort of stupid transistor or something of this type.
It could also be a fuse or breaker. If air is blowing then your blower is still working. This means that the problem is either a fuse, breaker or the outside unit. Check all breakers, replace all fuses. Inspect the coolant(thin copper) line outside for breakage. If the copper line is broken then you need a new line and a coolant charge. If it is internal, it could be a simple part or perhaps the compressor.
Good luck
Sounds like the refridgerant leaked out somewhere or it needs to be recharged
Your compressor is probably not working. First check the fuse or trip switch. If all OK there, you'll probably have to call for repair.
possibly out of coolant, ask air-cond technician to check out for u
If I were a betting man I would say that you have a leak in the refrigerant line. Call a reputable heating and cooling contractor come and check your system. Unfortunately this is not a diy fix.

It probably needs to be recharged.
A/C compressors have a low pressure cut out switch for safety reasons.
To confirm this is the issue, crank the A/C then go outside and see if the unit is running. There should be a large fan blowing very warm air out of the unit as well as a steady humming noise indicating the compressor is running.
Check your fuses or breakers first. If they are OK and you still don't have any action outside, your system more than likely needs recharging.
You will need to call an A/C serviceman. I happen to be one and cal tell you that this is something you cant do on your own. It takes some specific equipment and specialized training to properly diagnose and fix this. It sounds like you have a leak or something else. One thing you CAN do yourself is clean the condenser coil.(the outside thing). Hit it with some strong household cleaner and hose it off. (make sure the power is off before you do this). If this coil gets clogged with grass clippings o other things, it will cause the no-cooling thing.
