How do I fix my stand mixer?

Question:I dropped a metal spoon in as I was mixing and it got stuck between the beaters, but I got it out. Now the mixer won't work...

Well, you burned up the motor. Nice going.

Go out and buy a Kitchenaid.

By the term "won't work" do you mean the motor won't run or it will not turn the beaters? It may have had plastic gears which are now stripped. Or, the motor may have burned up. Either one means a replacement as the cost of repairing would probably be about the same.
