Can I deduct Cable Charges of Rs 250 Per Month in my Maintaineance Bill & what percent of Service Tax 2 B Paid

Question:Our CHS Raises Bill of Maintaineance Charges for Rs 2521 Including Rs 250 for Cable, I have already discontinued Rajesh Cable and I have requested Honorary Secretary to exclude the amount of Rs.250 from my Maintaineance Bill, because Maharashtra Govt has Now announced Set top Box , which is compulsory and it is offered by Dish TV,Tata Sky and MTNL and I have already installed the TataSky therefore I cannot Pay Charges to Rajesh Cable as well as Tata Sky, but Society does not exclude Rs 250 from My Maintaineance Bill , Can I deduct Cable Charges of Rs 250 Per Month in my Maintaineance Bill. Please also advise when service Tax is applicable to Housing society and what percent should be paid on Maintaineance Bill.

In order to answer this, it is important to know where you live. If in the States, each State has its own codes and laws. If out of USA and UK then it is difficult to say. Could you go to your town hall and talk about rent control and law about withholding charges from you monthly rent? It may be against your maintenance contract to withhold.
