I have ice forming on the top of my dehumidifier. What is wrong and how do I prevent this?
Question:We have it sitting on a table in the basement. We have storage containers next to it but that's about it. I do clean the filter every so often.

clean your condenser coils .poor heat tranfer makes the evaporator side too cold
Your condensor is probably shot and you will need to get a new one. You can try and have this fixed but it will probably cost you as much to get it fixed as it would be to buy a new dehumidifier.
