How could it be dangerous? The paint is non toxic!! you used it when it was all together didn't you? Replace it if you feel like it's necessary. Just make sure none of the shards fall into your food!
get a knew one but keep the old, micrwave what you always wanted to try microwaving marbles it is very fun
Microwaves aren't expensive any more, why take the chance?
I continued to use mine for over a year after the paint deteriorated. Just don't let the food actually touch the paint. Put a cover on everything to prevent possible falling. However, micros are so cheap, why worry about it... especially if you have children using the unit?
