"Moss Out" for roofs is effective, but I would start by carefully power washing it off after a good rain. Make sure to point the power washer down the roof so as to not drive the water up under the shingles. If you cannot get up there because it is too steep, then applying the moss out as directed will kills the moss, but the dead moss may stay on the roof for quite a while. The moss out for roofs comes with an spray adapter for a garden hose and will shoot 20 feet or so up the roof. You might want to contact the company that makes this product for some advice as well.
