check to see if the end of the pole is warped at all and widen it out with a pair of pliers if need be.also make sure you arent trying to connect the pole to the connecting spot for the vacuum hose
and if none of that works then just bear in mind nothing is ever truly universal :p
depends on the type. But ours has what is called "butterfly clips" that are like a "v" in shape that have small humps at the ends that fit into holes made into the end of the pole and hold the head to it. You can buy the clips at wal mart.
Lay out the pole and the vac. Through the clips in the trash and get a entire role of duct tape. Proceed to wrap the whole roll around the two items.
