Who should I call to repair a hole where the sink meets the drain in an old porcelain sink?
Question:I have an old sink, porcelain, that I do not want to replace. The problem is that a cup was dropped into the sink basin, and caused a triangular hole in the sink, where the basin meets the drain. The hole is about one inch at its widest point. I am not sure if this can be fixed, and if so, where to turn. Would one of those bathroom refinishing places be best? Or a full-on bathroom remodeling place? Or, somewhere else? I no longer have the original piece of the sink, and am willing to pay (within reasonable limits) to repair this sink, since it's a classic, rather than replace it with a modern unit. Thanks for all your help!
Answers:
Bite the bullet & buy a new sink.
I don't think that a neat good looking, dependable, lasting repair can be made.
A handy man can take care of that.
