Water leaks under the glass sides of my shower when I use it. How do I fix this?

Question:I tried using caulk that was supposed to form a watertight seal (and the label said "for kitchen and bath"). I let it dry for a full 24 hours plus an hour extra, but after using the shower again, I found a puddle of water and a mess of wet caulk. I can't afford to hire a pro.
I'm wondering if I could've applied the caulk wrong. Or should I have tried something else? How do I stop the leak?

Answers:
If you had a "mess of wet caulk" then it was not completely dry, nor was it of the silicone type. Use silicone based caulk, you will need some gas to clean it off where ever it goes that you do not wish. Let this barrier sit for at least 24 hours then you should be OK. You made the mistake of using a water based caulk in a wet condition. If it says clean up with soap and water, you do not want to use that product.
