KENMORE ELITE HE4t FRONT LOAD WASHER?

Question:My washer is having a problem...it was coming up with a dl error which I figured out was a door lock error... well my brother in law tried to fix it but not the door will not shut at all... the little white piece that the door latches on when you shut it... well he pushed it up now you can barely see it. I was wondering if there is a way to pop it back down or if i am gonna have to replace it. Or if anyone knows a way to fix it that is not costly...any help would be great... and thank you in advance.

Answers:
To begin, how old is the washer? If it's less than a year, it's still under warranty. Also, when you purchased the washer, Sears should have offered you what's called a "Protection Agreement" - did you take advantage of this and purchase it?? If you did, you should be covered for repairs. If it's over a year old, and you didn't get a protection agreement, it sounds like you need to have a professional do the repairs instead of your brother-in-law. Call 1-800-4-MYHOME and speak with a Sears representative regarding having the repair done by a qualified repairman. Also, I'm assuming that you've checked your Owners Manual regarding the problem..
