Yard help again.. good ideas?
Question:okay we bought a new house we will be moving in the house next saturday the 19th my yard has hay, weeds i was wondering is there any way rather than trying to take out everything and planting it all over again that i can do? thanks for all your help i really appreciate it!

Hay is just grass that ran amok. What I would do is cut it down with a mower, bagging as you go (I know that's a pain, but you have to be able to see what's left). Then you can analyze your yard for what it is. Chances are the tall grass blocked out new growth beneath it, so I would think that topdressing it with 1" or so of fine topsoil, then reseeding, will take care of the problem. Don't be afraid to call ChemLawn, they're a lot more affordable than you think.
you can burn it, or chemically kill it and start over.
when you start with bare ground, you may want to sod instead of seed. weed seeds take root quickly on bare ground. sod is pricey compared to seed.
once you move in you need to see what kind of grass it is. Call a lawn care company like Scotts or Greenskeeper and get a free estimate on what they will charge to spray it
