Do you have central air in your home?
Question:What are some things I should know about -- like do`s and don`t`s.
Answers:
I am certified HVAC&R anyone having any problems with their systems let me know do my best to answer.
As stated filters clean outside coil clean, that includes behind the steal frame structure of some you can't see the coil so make sure you have it cleaned with proper chemical wash so its efficient and operates in extream temperatures as designed. Most Central Air Conditioning systems are connected to a furnace and without that system you can have 1000 central air conditioners outside if the furnace is not blowing and also its filter clean and drain in operating order.
Keep the airconditioning maintained and your heating system as well they are 2 different systems but work together as a one comfort control system. Every 6 months when the weather changes you should always check to make sure those things are done and in top operating condition...
As for those who have leaks you have to fix the leaky tire or your going to go to the gas station every week filling it up so no sense filling up leaky system.. anyting over 20 years old should be replaced.. Hope I have helped..
92% for heating and 13SEER for Cooling is the standard its high efficiency but its the expected standard these days!

Yes, two units. Set it and forget it and let it do it's job. Nothing really to think about. Just change the filters once a month if you run it alot. They really require no maintenance, although some people like to have an inspection done at the beginning of the spring just to make sure they don't end up with a broken unit on the hottest day of the year (or over a 3-day weekend which I swear is the only time they ever go out).
Some people will tell you to leave the fan on all the time, but I tried that and my electric bill doubled, so I'm back to keeping it on the auto setting and just running ceiling fans.
I do have central air,and I love it,the main thing is to keep it on 70 degrees and automatic.Your bill will be less expensive and to it goes off and on when the coolness is reached inside your home.Enjoy!!
Yes. keep the Thermos set between 75-78 in the summer months saves on the electric. Once the unit is on don't keep turning it off and on. Make sure you have the auto switch to the on position that way the unit shuts off when needed and on again.
Yes, and always keep your eye on the filters. Cheaper, and more convenient if you write down the size you need, and stock them. People always neglect them. That where you could get sick, very easy. You won't hesitated to change them if you need to change them. When you see all the dust built up in them, you don't have to wait because you need to go to the store to get some. Usually people forgot to get some after they went to the store. It's the most important-CHANGE YOUR FILTERS.
You get what you pay for.
Had bad experience w/ a brand that was supposed to be same as & made units for a "name" brand.
That and a poor installation gave me fits.
Had to replace it .
The latest units are physically smaller, quieter,& more energy efficient than ever.
Unless impossible to install rigid ducts avoid flexduct (glorified dryer hose) & before you pay be sure the contractor
has properly tested & balanced the system.
Best thing to do is search around the internet for the pitfalls and joys of owning your own air conditioning system. If you want more information or need to ask more pertinent questions check out the site mentioned below.
There are many people out there who will give advice but you really don't know who is qualified to give the unbiased 'correct' information.
