How do I change a pool light?

Question:

Answers:
You don't have to drain the pool an inch whether it's the bulb or the entire light. Assuming you mean the light, first make sure the circuit is off. Remove the old light by removing the single retaining screw that holds it to the wall. Pull the light out and there will be enough cable so you can place the light on the deck. Cut the cable close to the light. You'll need to splice the new light cable to this cable. Best way is to remove a few inches of insulation and snip off one of the three wires. Prep the new light cord in the same way. Using these wires splice the cables together and wrap electricians tape around the whole joint so it's not thicker than the cable. If your old light went to a junction box go there and you should be able to pull the cord through the conduit. You'll need an assistant to feed the cord into the wall while you're pulling. Pull enough until the new light is just barely on the deck. Coil the cord around the light and replace it into the wall.

Bummer deal about this... you have to drain the pool down to below the light. And this time of year, you probably don't want to do this. But, think of how much fun you will have in August with the lights on.
Yes you have to drain the pull down pass the light to get to it
