When tuck pointing, how do I match the old color mortar?

Question:My house was built in 1930 and the old mortar is a very dark weathered grey color

Answers:
it will be tuff. do some test spots. use regular mortar and measure everything . then add black coloring a little at a time till you think you have it right.

Trial and error, you will never completely match it
Try a mason's supply yard.
They have samples of mortar colors & coloring which can be added to the mix
Bring a piece of the old mortar to get a match.
