Ceiling fan light help?
Question:Well, I just put up a ceiling fan in my bedroom. 42 plug Telluride fan.
It works great, the fan and the lights work. Well the lights only work half way. You see, I only want the fan to be on at certain times, but when I pull the switch thing for the light, it doesn't turn off. But it turns off when I flip the switch. But so does the fan. I can't do separate light things either! Help!

This is an easy fix. Its the pull switch in the light housing that has gone bad. All you have to do is to go to any hardware store and buy a new pull switch. Then open up the can thing that is on the bottom of the fan (should be 3 small screws around the edge) and remove the old switch. its only two wires if you can install a fan you can change the switch. As far as the small wobble you will need some masking tape and a quarter. Tape the quarter the the center of one fan blade the turn on the fan and see how the wobble has changed. If it is better move it out to fine tune it, if it's worse move it towards the motor. I know it sounds odd but when your done you will have no wobble and no one will see the quarter.
You either have a faulty switch or have possibly mis-wired the connections, somehow bypassing the switch.
I would check the wiring again, comparing very carefully against the wiring diagram in the instructions. If all seems to be in order, do you have a meter to test the switch? (While disconnected from power of course.) If the switch is not working properly, you should return the fan.
Good luck-

Sounds like both sides of the fan's light switch are tied together to hot.
