Condensation on Basement Ceiling Waterpipe?
Question:I recently installed a drop-ceiling in my basement and now have noticed that condensation from the Water-Pipes (which are run above the ceiling) is dripping onto the ceiling tiles. My question is, can anyone give me any advice as to cure this dripping?

I would recommend insulating the pipe(s) with a foam insulation. Make sure all joints are glued or taped to prevent air infiltration. Armaflex is a commercial brand but many Home Centers carry good products.
Any home improvement store sells what is called pipe wrap...get some.
You need to insulate the pipes, make sure you tape all joints, I recommend the white covered fiberglass insulation.
foam tube pipe wrap= easiest
You can do something as simple as wrapping the pipes with news paper or pipe installation this will help in the temperature difference that causes condensation. This is assuming there is not a leak!
Are you sure it is condensation? Sounds more like a leak.
You'd better check the pipes before wrapping.
A closed-cell foam wrap is the best bet and should be done on all of the cold and hot water pipes above the ceiling. A good flat white primer like Kilz will cover the water stains so you don't have to throw the tile away.
