How do I repair the end of my garden hose?
Question:I recently just purchased a brand new hose. The plastic threaded ring part at the end that you screw into a nozzle cracked and fell off. All I have now is bare hose. How do I replace the plastic part at the end, and can I replace it with a metal one?
Thank you for your help!
Answers:
Yes, you can and they sell brass fittings in a complete hose repair kit in the garden center at the home improvement stores. I like the one I used because it even has its own turn off valve right at the end of the hose and you can still attach other sprayers.
if you just purchased it then why don't you return it?
Circumcision
Go to a home center, they have all kinds off things to repair hoses. New ends, couplers etc, etc
If there's bits of broken plastic left, cut the hose behind it so that the end is square and even.
Go to a hardware store and ask for a hose repair kit. You can get just a male or female, or both if you need them. Follow the directions, and you'll be back in business in no time.
I would say buy a new one
hose repair ends come in 5/8 and 3/4,it should be atight fit when repairing it, or take it back to store if you still have reciept
If it's brand new take your receipt and the garden hose back to the store get your money back and get a different brand because the repair will not be as good as the original.
Yes you can replace plastic hose connections with metal ones. You can find repalcement connectors at most hardware stores. They come in a kit, or separately.
