Can you put bleach in a children's pool to disinfect it?

Question:It is 66 in by 16 in, so how much is safe? How many tablespoons or cups do you put in for that little pool? thanks in advance!

Answers:
Yes, you can clean a kiddie pool with bleach/water, and you can also put plain old bleach into the pool water and leave it in so it acts as "chlorine." It's the same thing. You can research this on the net to find the appropriate amount. I did this for a while, but while bleach is cheaper, it's less frightening to use chlorine made for kiddie pools. I was always worried I was using too much. From what I read lots of people use plain old bleach as chlorine with no problems. Sure beats cleaning the pool and changing the water every few days.

I WOULD PUT IT IN TO CLEAN IT THEN RINSE REALLY WELL
no, it's not safe!
Yes, chlorine is bleach and it is used in all pools. In fact, it is used in tap water.

But you will need to know how many gallons will be in the pool.
It is not safe to use liquid bleach in a children's pool. You may want to drain it, then clean it with bleach. Rinse it thoroughly, then fill it again. Use chlorine blocks that dissolve slowly as well.
Yes,
Chlorine is chlorine, so the chlorine in bleach is the same as the chlorine in drinking water and in a swimming pool. In fact, you can use chlorine bleach to treat a swimming pool or to treat drinking water. A gallon of bleach provides 1 part per million (PPM) of chlorine to 60,000 gallons (about 250,000 liters) of water. Typically, a pool is treated at a rate of 3 PPM, and drinking water is treated at anywhere from 0.2 PPM to 3 PPM depending on the level of contamination and the contact time.
(my calculations make that about 1 oz Chorine in your pool of fresh water to bring to 3 ppm chlorine. A test kit for chlorine should be used whenever you are adding any type of chlorine to any pool).

Yes you can. It depends on how much water you have in tthe pool. I know that daycares and restaurants have to use bleach when they disinfect the toys and dishes. The formula that they use is 1 Tablespoon for every gallon of water. You won't want more than that because if you get too much it can burn a childs skin.
yes you can use the bleach in the pool... but honestly next time your at walmart or home depot or just about any place that carries pool chemicals as alot of them do here buy you a chlorine floater that you just leave in the pool... you can set it to only release a small amount and leave it floating in the water as long as no one is in it... they only cost like 4 or 5 $ and its alot easier to do... then you wont have to worry near as much... but the bleach in the pool you can use just remember your kids are going to be in it.
