Lawnmower emitting blue smoke & realize it runs too rich. How to fix it myself. fjw1952@yahoo.com?

Question:

Answers:
Black smoke means rich. Blue smoke means oil. Rings and cylinders may be damaged. Seems to happen a lot does't it. Total overhaul is the fix, unfortunately .

I will bet you lunch the air filter is saturated with oil, making it run rough and smoke excessively. Remove the air filter and let the engine run for a few minutes. I think it will clear up and run like it used to! If the filter is made of foam clean it, if it's a paper element replace it.
In the future don't tip the mower with the carb on the lower side and this wont happen.
