Running a garbage disposal and water temperature?

Question:Are you suppose to run the garbage disposal with hot water or cold water?

Answers:
I would use cold water, especially if you are dumping items with fat on them. The cold water will keep the fats solid and help them be rinsed away. Using hot water would tend to melt the fats and then they would congeal in your drain pipes.

"They" say cold water, but I do both and always have.
If you run it for a normally short period it makes no difference. Using cold saves energy. Using hot help moves grease and decreases bacteria but not dramatically. I always use cold.
Try cold water.Hot water will melt the grease and when it reaches your drain lines it tends to cool and collect in your lines thus causing a clog later on.
COLD. so the pipes beyond the disposer don't get laden with grease. If you can't understand why this works you failed science no doubt.
