How can I break my microwave?

Question:I live in an apartment complex and the microwave in my unit is a nightmare. It burns food on one side while leaving it raw on the other, and has broken 4 microwave-safe stoneware plates. I have asked managment to replace it NUMEROUS times but to no avail. Last week my upstairs neighbor had a brand new one installed by managment because his was broken, SO, I want to know how I can cause my microwave to break so that it will be both beyond repair AND so that my tampering will be undetectable to property managment/maintainance crew. Thanks!

Sounds like it's shot. Someone has at one time or another put metal or it and blew part of it out. Be careful. I have seen them blow up before. I don't mean literally blow up, but they can catch fire. After they get to this point, I don't think they are too safe. If you are looking fore a way to fry the unit, take and ball up one or two pieces of aluminum foil and put them in it, turn it on high and turn it on for about 10 minutes. If it starts making any weird noises, turn it off and let it sit for a couple minutes. You can test it by putting a cup of water in it and see if it warms it up. If it does, repeat the previous and test it again. Good luck and don't stand too close to it, while doing this.

Hey, good thinking! You are as determined (and sneaky) as I am. Not meant to insult you.
Do the right thing. Kindly remind your landlord of your microwave problems & ask him if he could "please" replace it. Maybe it's how you asked him for it in the past? Since the microwaves are included in the apartments, he is responsible for replacing yours.
cook a turd in it...that should brake it!
You can put pretty much anything metal into it.. let it run for a while.. it might "blow up". but it will be broken..
Put about 5 #2 pencils in there and turn it on...add a couple of old cds to the mix as well.
microwaves are solid state electronic devices, what this means is they are difficult to break, but if you do they are not worth repairing, it also means if one small part breaks nothing works. A friend of mine found this out when the light on the microwave burned out and the microwave would not work. Pop the bulb. hard to prove you did it on purpose.
This answer is definitely a 10 pointer. I'm not endorsing it, but it will answer your question. Place an aluminum pie pan inside the microwave. Place some type of food in it. Put setting on high. Push start button, and jump back. It should look like the forth of July inside. It burns out the electronics, be the tube in the circuitry. After you turn it off, remove any thing left inside. It's a done deal. The cost to repair it will be ginormous compared to replacing it. There should be no evidence of foul play with this method. Still, run this idea past your close friends before trying.
It sounds like your scatterer or 'stirrer blade' is not working. (See http://www.gallawa.com/microtech/how_wor... for more info on what that is.) The net effect is that your oven is shooting a concentrated beam of microwave energy at your food and plates - hence the localized burning and cracked plates. So in effect - your microwave is broken

If that's the case, I would appeal to the thing that really scares landlords - FINANCIAL LIABILITY!

Basically, explain that your microwave is now a weapon! And it's only a matter of time before it makes something explode real good, someone gets hurt, and you sue their sorry butts for all they're worth - and you would win too since you've given them many opportunities to address it.

OK - that might be over the top, but if you explain that your oven is broken, that you know what is wrong, that you are concerned that it poses a danger, and that you would hate for someone to be injured or something to be damaged because they didn't act on those concerns. Hopefully that will work.

Good luck.
Do the metal thing that was suggested but this is too funny! I don't blame you though... given the fact you've BEEN asking for a replacement & your neighbor gets NEW! I guess I would be feeling the same way as you. Good luck & be careful...
Accually it is broken from what you discribed. The stirrer motor is probably burnt out and thats why your dishes are breaking and why food is not cooking properly. Good luck
Putting metal in it could arch, and the burn could be obvious. Just keep turning it on for the maximum time empty.
