Question:My uncle lives with me and he is bigger than he should be and whenever he sits on the toilet something goes wrong like once every month. i feel really bad about this and he is very emotional about it but i seriously have hit rock bottom and dont know what to do...help!
Answers:
size & weight does'nt break toilets. it's usually caused from improper installation. check your floor flange & wax ring. being certain that toilet is flat and flush with the floor at sides, front and rear. this should solve your problem.

You have to be more explicit: What exactly is breaking?
What is he breaking down the seat? Hinges, stool screws? You may try and buy a commode that they have in medical supplies and try that. You can even fit it over the toilet but it won`t hurt the toilet. Make sure you ask how much weight the commode can take okay!
I presume that you're having problems with leaks caused by moving the tank (most common) when the person leans against it. Typically, that causes leaks between the tank and bowl, or sometimes on the water inlet.
You could try installing a one-piece commode, or bracing the tank with some small blocks of wood between the tank and the wall behind it.
If you decide to tighten the bolts that hold the tank to the commode, be careful, if you overtighten them, you can crack either part. They're usually pretty strong, but an overtightened bolt is stronger. If you're not confident about working on it, a plumber is in order.
YOU MIGHT BE ABLE TO GET A SEAT WITH LEGS TO HOLD IT UP TO KEEP HIS WEIGHT FROM BEING ON THE ORIGINAL SEAT. LOOK FOR A STORE THAT SELLS THINGS FOR ELDERLY OR DISABLE PEOPLE.
is the toilet loose on the floor? ( sway back & forth ) ? What do you mean? In the hardware stores they have different kinds of seals for toilets. Then take the 2 bolts off on the bottom. then the hose to the wall. Then clean the old seal out of the floor. all clean. Then get a heavy duty seal. put the toilet back on. And Tighten TIGHTLY ! with lock washers. lock washers so it cant loosen again. simple!! ~¿^
Wow...maybe can to Lowe's or Home Depot and see about to heavy duty toilet or an adjuster or something.
send your uncle to weigh watchers..
