Is there a way to check a lawn mowers spark plug? If it is still good or needs replacing?
Question:
Answers:
Take it out and examine it. The color of the ceramic around the center electrode should be light brown and not cracked or chipped. If it's darker or black, replace it. If it's OK then reconnect it to the spark plug wire and pull the cord. It should spark (you might want to do this in a dark area so that it's easier to see the spark.) If it sparks OK then it's probably OK. The gap may need adjusting, so check that with a gage that's available at your hardware or automotive parts store. You can always just replace it every year or two, they are relatively inexpensive, but you should still check the gap when replacing it to make sure it's set to the engine manufacturer's recommendation.
For $2.00 replace it.
Yup a small tool that clips around the spark plug and clips to the engine
Some one pulls the starter rope another looks for a spark
Remove it and replace it
