Answers:
WD 40 is the best for removing anything that is sticky like tape. It makes a chemical reaction that turns it soft.

Alcohol from your paint store, even cheap gin would be too costly :-)
try soaking it with fabric softener should loosen it up
Peanut butter works charms. I use it all the time. It get almost any sticky residue of of anything. if not use goo gone.
Rub with eucalyptus oil until it's gone.
Takes only a few minutes and it smell good too.
Use Goof Off from either your paint store or hardware store. Works awesome!
A razor knife for the bulk and then follow it up with goof off for the resins.
WD40 is the only answer for you.
I use some stuff called OOPS! It works great. Just rub it on and scrape it off.
peel what you can then get the residue off by rubbing with cooking oil on a rag
vegetable oil works good.
Using paint thinner and a rag, get the tape wet and let it sit for a little while. That will soften the tape so it can be removed. Clean up the residual adhesive with more paint thinner and the rag. Paint thinner is a solvent for many sticky problems. Besides tape, it will clean up chewing gum, tree sap, oil spots and more. Usually, if water won't clean it up, paint thinner will. Just be careful using it on painted surfaces.
