Match stick through the key hole of my door knob how can I remove it?
Question:A bunch of kids shoved a match stick through the keyhole of my door knob making it impossible for me to unlock my door without destroying my door knob.. and any thing I can do to prevent the same thing from happening again? thanks.

straighten out 2 paper clips and bend the tips in a hook, try picking it out with that, if worse comes to worse, just buy a new door knob and put it in, don't start with the kids, just let it go, if they get no reaction out of you, it's no fun, they'll move on...they're kids !
Well I can't very well say what I'm thinking.Tell the kids you'll call out the law if you see them doing that again! That should scare them into not trying that again.
What a tough dilemma! Have you tried just burning the match? The door knob parts are metal so it should be fine. Preventing it will be tough. I definitely have no idea how to prevent that. Maybe you can find the kids who are doing that and talk to their parents.
I,d try using a strong needle to remove it, short of telling the parents I don't know how you can stop them if they decide to do it again
Don't know about the kids. But if you remove the long bolts from the door hinges, you should be able to take the door out of its frame. Then you can use a screw driver to remove the door knob. Pay attention to how it comes apart. You may be able to remove the match stick, but at least you'll be able to replace the knob easily.
To remove the hinge bolts, point a flat-head screw driver between the top of the hinge and the top flange of the bolt and use a hammer to bang upward on the screw driver handle. They usually pop right out.
