I need sand, now how much please? 8' x 13' 6" deep.Thanks!?
Question:It's 8' x 13' x 6" deep, and I have heard from 3 different places 3 different quotes from 3 bags to 8 bags - that's a HUGE difference! :) SO I thought I'd ask the experts. If you know the Home Depot/Lowes large sand bag coverage, and can tell me how many of those bags I'd need, that would be great. Or if you can suggest a tonnage of the sand, that would be great also. They're sold in those bags at the stores, and in tons by the delivery sand companies..so whichever you've got information wise, I'll pick from there! :)
Thanks so much!

Multiply all the numbers together to get the cubic footage then divide by nine to get the cubic yards and then goto Lowes with that number and you should be ok.
i used to live in florida in tampa.there is sand all around...daytona beach too.
You need two cubic yards, a cubic yard is 27 square feet (3x3x3). Or 52 cubic feet.
8'x13'x1/2'=52Cu. Ft / 27 = 1.9 Cu. Yd.s
That much sand, - buy it from a quarry or concrete outfit.
They'll probably deliver by dump-truck at that volume.
Tell em you need about 2 cu. Yd.s (1.93 actually).
They'll dump it where you want it provided the truck can reach the spot. (May be a surcharge, but worth it. No bags to carry).
Raking it into place will provide a good enough workout.
