Hooking up propane?

Question:

Answers:
If you need to ask this question, you shouldn't be messing with propane. It can be very dangerous if you don't know what you are doing. Teflon and propane don't get along but there is the yellow Teflon that is ok for propane. I prefer Rector seal "5" pipe dope myself. Get someone that is familiar with gas piping.

Use a regulator
Get a roll of pipe dope (teflon tape) for the threads on the connection. After you have read everything very carefully and are ready to do the connection, roll the tape on every thread. This will ensure a tight fit with no leaks.

After everything is connected and the propane tank is turned on, get a toothbrush, and a container of warm soapy water. Brush every connection. If you see bubbles forming, you have a leak. Shut the propane off, undo the connection and inspect it . You might have to add another layer of teflon tape to the threads and try again.
FYI
Teflon tape is an illegal product for propane.
My company found out the expensive way.The state inspector made Clint unscrew the system and get it off.

Anyway, are you hooking up propane to a house, mobile home, grill, what?
