Is it possible to separate a sheet of 8 cm thick iron sheet using any type of welder?
Question:If so how?
Answers:
not with a welder that is better than 3 inches thick
and you better have a very good torch to cut that
you can cut with air arc rods 300 amps at 125 psi with a 1/4 inch rod will only get between 1/2 and 3/4 of an inch deep
nowhere near deep enough to do what you want
any bigger rod and you would need a bigger machine
if it is 8 mm thick (5/16)they would do it
maybe at 800 to a 1000 amps it would be possible with bigger rods but you would be blowing away a lot of metal at a time it would be very hot and blowing metal everywhere
i am sure with that much power and metal you will get burnt
i use at least 3 boxes a month of the 1/4 and 3/16 rods
doing equipment modifications
to weld, is to fuse togeather, how do you figure that it will seperate? metal can be cut in a lot of different ways, cutting torch, hack saw, cut off saw, K-12 and a lot more
Plasma is an effective means of cutting thin and thick materials alike. Handheld torches can usually cut up to 2 in (48 mm) thick steel plate, and stronger computer-controlled torches can pierce and cut steel up to 12 inches (300 mm) thick

There are many companies that sell "plasma cutters"
250 to 300 amp DC welder and arc gouging rods.
If you have never used them. REmember to protect all body parts utill you get the hang of it as molten iron will fly and spew in force. It will rip a trench through 8 cm fast when set properly. Good luck and have good ventilation BWB
It is possible but you may have to use a very high intensity welding machine to cut 8 cm thick sheet. Also you may waste lot of material in that process.
i dont think so..
