Will a window company improve the look of my windows?

Question:I am buying my house and am making some improvements but only have limited cash. The windows i have in at present are double glazed white pvc, they are council windows but are good quality windows, the only problem is that every other council house around me has these windows and i would like mine to look different somehow, maybe by changing the outside pane to a decorative one, i also have tacky plastic window sills that i would like replacing with new wood. are there companys that will do this or should i just go ahead and buy new windows?

Answers:
Buy a roll of stick on lead trim, design a tasty pattern and apply it properly. It will make all the difference to the look of the windows and save you hundreds of pounds. Do not replace the sills with wooden ones, it will look odd, and they will rot no matter what you do to them. Try fitting a canopy over them, using plastic pre-fabbed sections. They really do look classy and come with moulded tile effect finish and shaped plastic supports.

If some one puts a brick through they may help
I would get a reputable carpenter or home improvement contractor come and take a look and offer advice including cost ranges.
Have you ever thought that no-one goes around looking at windows. Why don't you just spend some money in improving the appearance of your garden? As for your window sills. Lots of people prefer plastic to wood - less maintenance.
