How do I turn off my outside light?

Question:In the neighborhood I live in, we have those light-on-a-stick lanterns right off the front porch. It turns on and off automatically from a little daylight sensor, but how do I turn it off forever? It's awful bright and annoying. I can't just flip the breaker, because that makes all the outside lights and outlets non-functional.

Answers:
I assume that you want to keep this as a functional light. If that is true you will need to add a switch. You stated that if you turn off the breaker other things on this circuit go dead. This means that the power running to this light goes through other things before (or after) they run through this annoying light. If you can figure out how the electicity travels within this circuit you can easily add a switch. Home Depot has a book called "Electricity 1-2-3" which can run you through the process simply. You can do it without cheating (removing the bulb!)

I have them too and there should be a small switch on it somewhere.
If you can't find the switch. Why not remove the light bulb?
Take the bulb out
