I have a 2 story home.Out of the side of the house above the 2nd story there is a PVC pipe dripping water. Why

Question:The house is in Charlotte, I have not seen any water drip out in the prior 8 years. There is another PVC pipe vent pipe next to it and it is not leaking. The piping is about 1" so it is a small opening. What should I check first or who do I call?

Answers:
sounds like an AC condensation drain...

The only way to find out what it is for sure... trace the pipe.

I would guess that you have two furnaces/AC units in your attic, each of which has a drain pan underneath them and are piped to the exterior with the PVC pipe.

Go in the attic and see if you have water in one of the pans. Your HVAC contractor can help you.
I agree with the others. Its probably a condensate line from your AC unit Most are 3/4" or 1" PVC. If its a different size you should do some further investigation
