Gas Cooker : How much to install?

Question:

Answers:
Do not do it yourself! It is against the law and very dangerous. I had a gas hob installed last March and was charged 45 quid, I didn't have the oven because I am disabled and wouldn't be able to use it if I had one. I think the basic going ate for a cooker is 65. You would have to ring around your local area. I am in Derbyshire.

Have a go at it yourself ,it takes 10 mins to solder on a bayonet fitting and 10 mins to hard wire electrics for display and fan assist.
I,ve been told today that it will cost me £40 or if it needs anew pipe on the back £60. I'm in sheffield.
I did mine myself. When you look at the gas pipe behind the cooker and all you have is a square plug screewed into the pipe, you need to remove this.
The part that will screw in its place and what the cooker pipe will attatch to, costs me £6.50. It is brass. Also you will need some plumbing tape that you wrap around the threads of the bit you are going to screw in. Use plenty. The tape will set you back about £1.20. That is it.
A good old fashioned hardware store will have the parts or a plumbers merchant. B&Q should have them as well.
