Plumbing-Toilet and Tub drains?
Question:Toliet has had cloggin problems. However, we have been able to clear it with plunging. Now it backs into the tub.
Answers:
Your main sewer is backing up. Or your septic is full. Call a plumber, he will have a sewer cleaning machine.
Need to get a toilet augar and go deep, you moved clog but it's still there.

Sounds like your clog has just moved elsewhere. Rent a snake and clean the pipe out.
you did not clear the clog, you only pushed it farther down the pipe so now when you try to flush the water is being held back and comes up thru the lowest drain (the tub).
--you can plug up the tub, then plung the toilet some more
or
--get some liquid plumber and pour it down the tub drain

it sounds like theres something in the main line that drains both the tub and the the toilet get your self a heavy duty auger and try snaking it down thru the toilet and clearing it that way , if you have a basement and can see the piping look for a clean out plug thats inline of the waste piping and try that way or call rotorooter...
The broblem is down past the toilet. its in the drain. You have to get a snake to get it out. You can rent one from home depot
You have moved the clog. The tub drains into the same main line as the toilet. Using a plunger properly prevents this. Press the plunger down into the toilet bowl slowly and gently press down to remove most of the air. Then quickly pull up on the handle. Instead of pushing the clog further into the line or fixture, you are pulling it back out of the drainline.
If you can't clear it with a snake from the top, look for a clean out. This is usually a round black cover in the concrete around your house somewhere. Sometimes they are on the face of the wall, or in a recessed box.
The clean-out is made for easier access to tough clogs (and are required by most codes).
