How do you clean a tower fan?
Question:With the usual electric fans I used to remove the grill and wash all parts. I bought a tower fan and I'm not sure how to clean it. I have tried to vacuum but it's not enough to catch all dust.

Most of the answers suggest an air compressor, that's fine if you have one! but I bet £1000.00 you don't. Try a gentle tap around the casing, not enough to do any damage and it should help to loosen some of the dust, next try a small but long brush, artist's brushes would do, to reach inside, and then put it on it's side and carefully bump it to rid of the dust that the brush has loosened, patience and perseverance will pay off.
You can buy compressed air in cans at most computer shops but that means money

Some vacuum cleaners can blow as well as suck, it would a good idea to check and see if your's can !
Take it outside and blast it with compressed air.
use an air compressor.
