What would cause my ge microwve to cut off after programed and start is pressed after 2 seconds running?

magnetron cutting out from a ground or over load, the other thing' low voltage at plug, but I doult that is it !
A magnetron is the "engine" so -to -speak of the micro-wave. If it is doing this and its the mag; new micro needed. they are now pretty cheap>
How old is it?
Check if the turntable is not blocked & is actually turning.
Check out the Instruction Booklet.
Check out the warranty.
Don't muck around with microwaves as they can be dangerous.
If all this fails - get a new one.
