a once over wash with bleach. then a rinse a few mins later, be careful not to use it on coloured stuff tho but it should kill the germs.
you can buy a mildewcide from home depot or sherwin williams. mix it with one gallon of water and spray the area. please wear gloves and don't get it on your skin. put a fan on the area and get it dry. when it is fully dry water proof coat it with exterior paint or polyurethane.
