Can I convert my bathroom's 1 handle faucet into a 2 handle faucet?
Question:I checked underneath the sink and there are 2 holes underneath, but I'm unsure if I can install a 2 handle bathroom faucet in this case. I wouldn't see why not.
Answers:
Im a plumber of 20 yrs and there should be 3 holes.
Im sorry to most who answered this.
3 holes
1 for hot side
2 for cold side
3 for drain stopper rod
Now dont get me wrong you can put in a 2 handle unit but you wont have a handleto pull up on to stop the water from running out the sink.
Now you can out a 3rd hole in the unit but it depends on what kind of top it is. If its plastic then a standard drill bit would work but if its marble or other then you need a special bit to do this (Sorry)
Im so shocked by the answers that were givin here.
so to all who answered look under your sink and see how many holes you have. Look at a unit in the store
(Note there are some things I dont know as if the sink is a drop in unit a under mount or 1 solid pc. or how old it is but still) If you need help drop me a line @ my e-mail

Yes you can.
Just make sure you get the right measurement for the faucet fixture. The holes need to line up.
The holes are usually standard, you should be fine with a new faucet.
A bathroom lavatory (sink) customarily has two holes spaced 4" on center for the faucet. These holes will accept either a single handle faucet or a two handle faucet. To answer your question, yes, you can change over to a two handle faucet.
yes, you can, just make sure you get the right size measurments... Home Depot is theres one near you , Sears, Orchard Supplies any store that sells hardware have bathroom accessories.
faucets, towel racks, tub faucets.
have fun, and the bathroom will look great.
yes you can the two handle faucet has two connections so you need two holes left is hot right is cold.
yes
measure the distance between the holes this is your spread go buy a 2 handle with that spread and bolt it in. what you will find under the sink is that the hold and cold are joined to a common feeder head. lossen these then connect the individual feeds to the seperate handles
