Frozen faucet? I think it is hard water deposits? How to fix?
Question:I have a kitchen faucet with a double sink. You are supposed to move the faucet back and forth to use each side of the sink. My faucet is just stuck, you can't move it side to side at all. Is this due to my hard water with calcium crusting? How do I fix this problem? Or do I need a new faucet, it is only 5 years old.
Answers:
it is probably the calciium crusting, expecially if you can see it.
If you can find a way to put vinegar on it ( and keep it in place around the crust for , oh, at least 20 minutes, you can take part of the crust off.
Repeat.
It make take 1 more treatment AFTER you can't see the crust anymore.

However, you may have to disassemble it to clean it all out., or you can try something stronger (like CLR)
=============
try putting a wash cloth or dish cloth around the crusty area;
saturating it with vinegar, and wrapping it with something like Saran Wrap ( not aluminum foil) to keep the wet vinegar in roughly the right place. You might need tape on top of the Saran Wrap.
Most faucets last a lot longer than 5 years, but there are always exceptions.
I
Mix vinegar and baking soda and put it on the area and let it set until it stops fizzing. Scrub the area and start over with the vinegar and baking soda.
remove the spout from the body of the faucet and remove and replace the o ring clean out the body of the faucet grease up the o ring re install the spout
I am glad she is not court reporting for me. Why she should add baking soda to vinegar is a total mystery to me as one will counteract the other.
The other guy has it.
