How do I increase the tension on a Stanley self-closing door hinge?

Question:

Answers:
The ones I am familiar with have a lock nut on the bottom. Hold this firmly and loosen slightly. There is a keyed hole( hex) in bottom to tighten or loosen ( could be a slotted also ) turn clockwise and then lock down locking nut. Hope that will help..

You should see holes around the top of the barrel housing. Insert a small tool into a hole and turn the top ring, remove small cotter type pin and place in the next hole to tighten tension of spring.
