What is wrong with a dishwasher that won't drain?
Question:We checked the drain hose connected to the sink. It is only 5 months old. Thanks for your help!
Answers:
If you checked all the hoses from the washer to sink and there clear.
And you checked the inside of the washer ( The screen) and all thats clear.
its only 1 thing left.
THE PUMP. Under the unit. Call a appliance dealer to come look at the unit.
But I have been in plumbingfor 20yrs and for only 5months old thats odd. most of he problems are
1 the hose is kinked
2 clog
3 hose from washer to vent is cloged
4 vent to drain or garbage disposer is cloger
5 screen in bottom of washer is cloged
6 if your line is going to a garbage disposer make sure the unit is clear ( its only about 2inchs long but it will stop a unit from draining.
Goodluck
It drains via an electric pump. Its too new to've failed (I hope) so I wonder if there is a reset button?
Does the pump come on? Does it pump at all? It should make a noise if its trying to pump. Is there a drain filter inside on the floor of the washer plugged up?
Might try unplugging the electric supply cord, then replugging it.
Give more details!
Good luck.
sounds like the pump amy need attention
The drain valve release is broke.

I had this problem recently. Thought the drain was plugged at first but it wasn't. The pump would pump water but not against any backpressure, such as the head pressure of the drain pipe going up to the air gap.
Long story short...this dishwasher has a self cleaning screen in the back of the dishwasher and the seal on the check valve was rotted. The pump just kept drawing water out and pushing it right back into the dishwasher. We replaced the seal and it worked like a charm. This seal was never even mentioned in the maintenance manual, it took us good old American Ingenuity to figure it out.
In case nothing else works, try this.
