Gasoline Weed Eater - I put the wrong fuel in it.?
Question:I have a weed eater that takes standard unleaded gasoline. I accidentally put the gas I have premixed for my chain saw in the weed eater. I ran it for several minutes, then realized the error. I dumped out the 40:1 mix stuff and put new gas in it. Now the weed eater stalls and does not have the power it once had. Is there an easy fix or is it off to the reapir shop for it?
Thanks.

Start with changing, or at least cleaning the spark plug. You should have some improvement, this is the simplest. You might also drain the carburetor float bowl, beware of carb cleaner solutions, they can expand o-ring seals. At least the problem is not the other way around, your weed-eater would be toast!
change the spark plug.
Changing the spark plug will probably solve your problem.
There's probably still some oil in the line or tank, keep running it and look at the spark plug, you might have to change that, but I dont know.
well my uncle did that to a 40:1 mix weedeater one time...he put regular gas in it.it ruined a lot of stuff.he had to put the weedeater in a repair shop to have some things repaired on it that the gas ruined.so im not sure cause what u did was exact opposite.but im sure there is something similar with the situation somewhere.
I'm assuming from your description that this is a four cycle engine on the weed eater. That being so, you have likely clogged up the passages inside the carb and possibly have deposits on the valves that would keep them from closing properly, thus losing power. I'm afraid its off to the repair shop for an overhaul and carb clean.
when you drain the gas you also have to get the gas that is in the motor. Its hard because you have to take some of the parts off but if you are not the type that knows about motors you should get professional help.
