Water heater tank in restroom in a small business?

Question:is it true that this is a violation of building code? if it is a violation, is there a quick fix to this? i can't move this tank because i don't have any more room to place it.

Answers:
The tankless water heater is a good option. If this is a violation of code, can you enclose the existing tank with walls & make sure to provide a drain outlet for the overflow valve? That would keep it out of sight/mind...

Try a tankless water heater. They can be mounted on a wall. I'm not kidding, There are really tankless water heaters that heat water "on demand".
Usually depends on weather you've got a gas or electric water heater. Gas needs to have ventalation were electric should be allright. I would contact a local home inspector and ask em over the phone just to be sure as the laws and regulations very by state to state and even city to city.
unless a municipal plumbing or health inspecter said it, don't worry about it. But you can call them about 730/800 in morning and remove all doubts.
