About Painting Trim...?

Question:Does woodwork have to be white enamel? I dislike white enamel. I know it's traditional but does painting woodwork a different paint diminish property value? Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks.

Answers:
Trim can be painted any colour you want, however people generally paint it a lighter colour then the walls because it gives the room the appearance of being larger.

The same goes for the trim at the top of a room. When painting a room you do it to show off the contours of it and to make it appealing, but that said, not everyone likes the same thing.

The paint colour wont take down property value as anyone purchasing a house knows that they can always repaint as long as the walls and frames are not rotting or in bad condition.

no, woodwork doesnt have to be white, It can be whatever color you can dream up. It doesnt diminish property value.
Many designers are changing up colors. The paint does nothing for value because everybody always like something different than you do. They will paint later. Colors that require many coats to cover are not that appealing but you could stay in one bases and not hurt yourself on value. I think the darker colors are what that advice was all about. They make some good water based finishes now that turn out well. I prefer oil but I've been doing this for thirty years. Change it up but do not go to wild,
