Pressure Washer float tank?

Question:I have a direct drive pressure washer, if the tank is full it runs fine, but if the water level drops even a bit it starts to pulsate. Can I bypass the float tank and hook up the municipal water direct to the inlet?

Answers:
you probably could bypass but tank is there to allow for addition of cleaning chemicals or detergent you would lose that option you may have debris or something in tank or suction line when pump runs it draws gunkinto lines and plugs or partilly blocks flow try thourougly cleaning system before you bypass
