i have a dyson and it did the same thing. my problem was a BB got picked up in the carpet.so it could be a piece of trash like a pebble or something else. while the vacuum is off pick it up and slowly turn it over and over. if it's trash you will hear it move around. you could then shake it to get it ti fall out or probably have to remove the cover on trhe brush to get it out.
