Why does my garage opener not work, but the inside button on the wall works to open the garage?
Question:I have tried to replace the batter on my remote, checking the switches to make sure they match and it still does not work. I even tried to buy a new remote and it still did not work.
Answers:
The inside button is probably hard wired to the opener is why it is working. Since you said you have changed batteries, made sure the switches on the opener match up with the ones on the remote, and even bought a new remote, then it's probably interference. We had side by side garage doors, both quit working at the same time and each had it's own remote. Drove me crazy trying to figure out why they quit working. We also had one of those atomic clocks with a sensor that went outside. It quit working a couple of weeks after the garage doors did. When I replaced the batteries in it, the garage doors worked again. And no, I've not been drinking or smoking anything funny.
needs repaired.
Sounds like its the batteries. Or it may need to be reprogramed.
I would try reprogramming the remote, (owners manual)
Make sure the receiver for your remotes is wired correctly. The wires may have come loose or disconected.
Try changing the switches to a different combination on both remote and the opener unit. Maybe some neighbour got something new that's interfering with the frequency you're on now.
