How do you get paint off a wood dresser?

Question:I was painting my bedroom and got a few drops of paint on my light oak dresser. How do I remove it without ruining the wood?
Thanks for your help!

I'm pretty sure you used latex paint. For just a few drops, scrape it off with your fingernail. That way you won't ruin the finish. After you have most of it off, use a damp cotton rag to wash it off. Then use some type of furniture oil like liquid gold, put it on a little heavy, wait a few minutes then wipe off. Should be good as new. If you try to wash it off with water, you might rub the color in more. If you use any type of nail polish remover, paint remover, etc, you'll eat the finish off before the paint is gone.

try using some water and then waxing the wood...if it's oil based paint, try some furniture oil...pour some on and let it set, then try to rub it off with a paper towel...
If it's latex paint just use a damp sponge with warm water. If oil based, you could use a dab of lacquer thinner.
I was told once that nail polish remover would work. I would check on an inconspicuous spot first to make sure it doesn't take the original finish off of your dresser...

If that doesn't work you could always try lightly sanding it off.and when I painted my living room I got paint on the baseboards and alot of it came up by simply using my thumb nail and scratching it off.

Hope this helps!
nail polish remover
sand paper
A good paint remover should be used first.
It should get gooey and you can wipe some off or use putty
knife to scope it off, maybe scrape a little.
What doesn't come off would most likely need to be sanded off.
dab paint thinner on a washcloth and run quickly on area of paint.
depending on the type and condishion of the paint you could just sand it off if the paint is in good order and you think it might be a oil base get a paint stripper and a wood brighter
the stripper will darken the wood and the brightenr will make it like fresh wood be carful not to get any on your clothes or on your skin and make sure you take off all hardwere first
