In the drill chuck at first fix a three sided shank twist drill ( Pilot drill ) With a suitable arbor you can fix the hole saw to the drill.The drill will at first locate the center and and start drilling, the hole saw will follow the drill and cut the hole exactly where you wanted.

Once you get that, you'll be able to fit any hole saw in your drill. If the bit wears out, you can buy replacement pilot bits almost anywhere. But if you are just getting started, the arbor is the piece everyone is talking about.
