The water and ice from my fridge tastes terrible. I changed my filter and it didn't help. Any ideas?

Question:I took off the metal tube that connect the fridge to to wall and it was cleaned also and no improvement.

Answers:
try a plastic tube

Put an open box of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda in it. Put 1 in the fridge too.
did you do all of these things recently? if so, run the water through the storage tank to get rid of the old water and refill it with clean new water. Dump old ice and make new.
Get two boxes of baking soda. Open the tops and sit one in the fridge and on in the freezer. They are great for absorbing the smells and odds that gets into your ice, water, and foods.
You could have mold or mildew in your line. Try flushing the line with a cleaning solution. Don't forget to flush after you use the cleaning solution otherwise your water will really taste like crap. Peace!
Having this line hooked up to a soft water conditioner will do it every time. Some people make this mistake and it does taste gross. If it is, fine somewhere in your plumbing that's not in with the soft water conditioner and hook it up there. Flush the line and the fridge and it should be better.
dear shuck, try to remove the trey under your fridge where the water drips and clean it with clorox and also replace your line in the back ot the fridge , after that use a open box of arm and hammer baking soda in your freezer and you bottom .. good luck m/f sheila
