When you have 2 sinks in the kitchen and you are doing dishes, why does the suds come up on either side.?
Question:
Answers:
I'm assuming you mean a "double sink"--one unit/ side by side, sharing a P-trap (U - like curved pipe underneath the sink.
You are probably using quite a "sudsy" dish-washing detergent.
As you run this down what is essentially a "shared drain", the rush of water creates more suds.
The water and suds are competing to exit out of the drain. Water beats Suds.
So the newly created suds find a path of least resistance -- up -- or partially up, the other sink.
Creates no harm -- if this is bothersome, just decrease the amount of the "sudsy" detergent you use.
And -NO- , this is No Excuse for not "doing dishes". :-)
that's because both of the holes connect to each other and lead to one pipe.
You have a plug in one of the drains, pour some straight clorox in there and let it sit a while and then run cold water thru and see if this fixes your problem. Just some past plug problems to refer to.
The waste pipes are linked together and the suds backwash through to the other sink. They share a common waste pipe to the main drain.
CHANCES ARE YOU HAVE A BLOCKAGE IN EITHER THE DRAINS DIRECTLY CONNECTED TO YOUR SINKS OR FURTHER DOWN THE DRAIN SYSTEM.THE EASIEST WAY TO CORRECT WOULD BE TO BUY A DRAIN CLEANER DESIGNED FOR YOUR TYPE PIPES,PLASTIC BRASS STEEL.CARE FULL WHAT YOU SELECT. THE NEXT STEP WOULD BE TO TAKE THE PIPES APART AND INSPECT WHAT YOU CAN SEE.FINALLY THERE ARE PLUMBERS SNAKES THAT BORE THROUGH TOUGH CLOGS.CAUTION THEY ALSO BORE THROUGH OLD WEAKENED PIPES
